Let’s Make a Joyful Noise!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome to St. Mark\u2019s Lutheran School, we hope you enjoy our theme for the 2025-2026 school year, \u201cLet’s Make a Joyful Noise.\u201d<\/strong> During this school year our goal is to grow in faith so that our enthusiasm for Jesus is contagious and an example to all! <\/h3>

Psalm 98:4 says…Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth! Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” .<\/h3>

Basketball Club<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Students in grades 4 \u2013 8 may join the Basketball Club.  Participants learn skills they need to play the great game of basketball \u2013 and apply them in practice scrimmages and games with area schools. We have two teams each for boys and girls \u2013 a 4th-5th grade team and a 6th-8th grade team. The goal of the basketball club is to grow into a competitive, interscholastic program that competes with other Lutheran schools at the State and National level. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Coding & Robotics Club<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\n

Students in grades 4th-8th may participate in this club where they will learn coding and apply what they learn to make robots do their bidding! <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Runners Club<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

In the fall, our students in grades 1-8 can enjoy the fun and benefits of running.  Runners are encouraged to do their best and improve from week to week. Runners receive a color coded stick for each lap they run \u2013 they compete against themselves to run farther and longer each session. <\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Volleyball Club<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Students in grades 4-8 learn volleyball skills and apply them in practice scrimmages.\u00a0 There are also interscholastic matches with area schools for our teams (4th-6th graders and 7th-8th graders) to learn during real competition.\u00a0 Most years, we compete in at least one tournament. The goal of the volleyball club is to grow into a competitive, interscholastic program.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Science Club<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Students in grades 1-8 may join the Jump Rope Club and participate in various jump rope activities, competitions, and fun things.  One of the competitions is to see who can jump longer than the teacher. Another is to see who can jump the longest. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Science Olympiad<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Students in grades 5-8 may join Science Olympiad \u2013 which is a national competition.  Participants practice various events and pick one or more in which to compete. Each event requires a high level of thinking, doing, and remembering.  The district competition is held at Xavier University early in March \u2013 with winning teams able to move on to state and national level events! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Band<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Music is definitely a hands-on experience at St. Mark\u2019s.  Children as early as preschool learn to appreciate music by playing different instruments.  In 4th grade students learn to play the recorder.  In 5th-8th grade, our students learn to play a band instrument.   Students choose to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, or percussion.  Some instruments are school-owned while some students supply their own. Concert participation occurs during the annual Christmas program and the End of the Year Spring Concert. <\/h4>\n<\/div>

Yearbook Club<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Yearbook club is open to Grades 5-8. Participants in the Yearbook Club will learn photo taking techniques, photo editing techniques, and actually put together page layouts for our yearbook.
