Grades 5 & 6 - Mr. Gene Postenrieder

altMr. Postenrieder graduated from New Mexico State U. and received his colloquy from Concordia, Seward, NE. Mr. Postenrieder taught for three years at Christ Lutheran in Albuquerque, NM before coming to St. Mark's.

What do you do here at St. Mark’s?  I am the 5th/6th grade and PE teacher at St. Mark's.

When did you begin working at St. Mark’s?  I began working at St. Mark's in August 2006.

Why did you want to become a teacher? I actually became a teacher to get into coaching.

Who inspires you? I am inspired by my wife, parents, and sister. They all have a strong faith and work ethic. My kids also inspire me because of their walk with Jesus.


What makes you laugh?  Tim Hawkins makes me laugh and the students a lot of times will make me laugh.

For Fun I Enjoy: For fun I enjoy watching sports. Especially football and baseball, any level and high school and college basketball.

Favorite Bible verse or passage? One of my favorite Bible verses comes from Romans 8:18: I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Reminds me of the hope we have in Christ when things get tough here.

What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ? My favorite characteristic of Christ is his willingness to serve. The verse that I attach to this is 1 Timothy 1:12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.
