Speech Teacher: Mrs. Ruth Brothers

altWhat do you do here at St. Mark’s?  I am the Speech-Language Pathologist and provide services to students who have communication needs.

When did you begin working at St. Mark’s?  I began working at St. Mark's in August, 2010

Why did you want to become a teacher?  I enjoy working with children and hope to make a difference in their lives. Growing up, two of my brothers had speech issues and received speech therapy. When choosing an education major, I thought about them and decided I wanted to be able to help children with special needs.

Who inspires you?  My family and friends.

What makes you laugh? The antics of my granddaughter. Since I only have two sons, it has been a whole different experience watching the way little girls relate to their world.

For Fun I Enjoy: Spending time with my family especially my grandchildren, reading, and spending time with friends.

Favorite Bible verse or passage? Two passages come to mind: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is an appointed time for everything,....A time to be born, and a time to die.....A time to weep and a time to laugh: a time to mourn and a time to dance.....A time to be silent and a time to speak.... A time to love...

Mathew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ?  His unconditional love for all those who believe in Him.
